Capital Markets Regulatory Authority
The Capital Markets Regulatory Authority (CMRA) unites 6 jurisdictions under a single, cohesive regulatory body—streamlining Canada’s fragmented landscape of 13 regulators. The new logo and identity present a bold step forward: reliable, efficient, globally competitive, and unmistakably Canadian.

The project kicked off with in-depth interviews across seven jurisdictions, senior leadership, board members, and industry associations; a global competitive audit; and a 900+ staff values survey. From that foundation, I led a logo design process emphasizing protection, efficiency, and Canadian unity.
Featuring a bilingual acronym, the logo speaks directly to CMRA’s regulatory role in both English and French. The red maple leaf connects us to Canada’s roots, while the arc element captures the collaborative spirit and forward momentum we’ll bring to capital markets.
We lifted the “Cooperative Arch” from our main logo and turned it into a flexible graphic asset that runs throughout every piece of collateral—reports, presentations, signage, you name it—always anchoring back to CMRA’s regulatory mission.
By layering in different color and pattern treatments, the arch then becomes a spotlight for our four core strengths:
- Dynamic & Cooperative
- Innovative & Effective
- Protective & Efficient
- Authoritative & Fair
